Seasons Greetings

Happy Holidays!

It’s been a busy year for the Midnight Sun Home Care team but because of all the hard work, this year has been our best yet. In 2017, we served our highest number of in-home care patients. Additionally, we provided peace of mind to many more through our care services and Philips Lifeline subscriptions. This year, we also acquired CareNet , Inc.’s home care line of businesses. Because of all of this hard work and growth, our business grew by 20 percent this year!

In 2017, we were also honored to be selected and awarded as one of the top 100 diverse and fastest growing companies in the U.S. by ICIC. You can learn more about our award here.

Even with all of our success this year, we don’t plan on slowing down anytime soon. Next year, our goal is to expand more fully into the MatSu Valley. Although we serve many clients in the area, we believe there are still many underserved people that will benefit from our unique and private directed services. We also plan to expand our community outreach to assist more charitable organizations and through other events to continue making the communities we serve the best they can be.

I hope you saw personal and professional successes this year and have a blessed holiday season with your loved ones.

By now the flu season is well underway and hopefully you are lucky enough to have avoided it, so far. The flu season traditionally begins to pick up in October and peaks between December and March. However, this year the flu season started early in Alaska and it’s been a rough one for many Alaskans and unfortunately it shows no signs of slowing down.

The weeks surrounding Thanksgiving and Christmas are often called the season of giving. We see toy drives, food drives and exchange gifts with each other. And while it is wonderful the holidays remind us to give to those less fortunate than us, at Midnight Sun Home Care we try to give back to our community during every season. Since we opened our doors, Midnight Sun Home Care has made it our company’s mission to be involved in the local community. Our service doesn’t stop with our clients, it extends into Anchorage and the surrounding areas.

Every year, we sponsor the Swing into Solstice charitable golf tournament, a fundraiser for the Arthritis Foundation Alaska Office. Several times a year our employees participate in the Adopt-a-Highway program, picking up trash and cleaning up the New Seward highway between Huffman road and De Armoun road. We lend our expert knowledge of senior care issues by offering free senior educational seminars to groups and organizations ranging in topics from fall prevention to avoiding senior targeted scams. Midnight Sun Home Care team members can also be found at several awareness walks throughout the year. Our employees have thrown their support behind the American Cancer Society, the Heart Run, the Women’s Run and more.

As we look forward to the new year we are excited to continue to support Alaskans. Giving back is part of our company culture and we hope our commitment to community will inspire others to get involved.
